Deceitful experience at Japengo
Restaurant’s location, interior and furnishing looks really attractive, however, rude staff and bad food does not add value to it.
I had a bad experience at this restaurant twice..
First time we have ordered pasta ‘bolognese’ which had more pepper in it than Indian food. Like guys, since when the pasta is that spicy?? It was really impossible to eat.
Second time I came with a company, we were 3, we have ordered 1 shisha, 1 Turkish coffee, 1 latte and an orange juice. The Turkish coffee was terrible; shisha was the worst I have ever tried. The guy who changes the coal took off the head of the shisha and blew in it, as a result our table was covered with ashes!! The biggest surprise was the toilets! It seems that no one has cleaned them since ages.. Toilet paper pieces were everywhere and the toilet itself was extremely filthy. The closure was with a bill of RO 10.

The place is very overpriced with VERY bad customer service. Japengo, NEVER AGAIN

BUT very expensive
can of coke : 1.200 Rail !!!
small water : 0.900 bz

i pay cheaper for these at shangrilla and al bustan hotel !!!

I went there with my sisters a few months ago. The staff people were rude, and the food was less than okay. We ended up paying 20 rials per person, and I must say... Def. not worth it.

We waited for 20 mins for the staff to bring us the check, and then waited longer for the change!

Def first and last time...

JAPENGO's CUSTOMER SERVICE SUCKS!

were celebrating our wedding anniversary yesterday (12jan 2010) as the restaurant here in muscat is many but still we prefare to eat / went to JAPENGO (qurum), But this experience was very HORIBBLE for us partner, as we entered the restau : NO ONE GREET OR WELCOME US, NO ONE ASSIST US, we sat on our own, and the WORST OF IT , were waiting for about 15 minutes and NO ONE COME TO US TO ASK WHAT WE WANT. MEANS STAFF WERE NOT HANDLING THE CUSTOMERS PROPERLY. Management shoud do some ACTION to this incident as this staffs dont know there JOB OBJECTIVES.

Im in the retailing business, and in our side were training our staff in the above average which regards to customer service...

JAPENGO is a high class restau, so staff should be aware of that.

Hmmm, I've been Japengo one month ago. I ordered some chilly noodle(i can't remember exact name) and a mixed sushi and a U-dong. All food is very salty, and over cooked. As a Asian, It's not a traditional Japanese style nor Chinese style. Just all mixed! If you want to try real Japanese food, I recomend Tokyo Taro in Al Falaj hotel. Except taste of food, all other thing is very good!. Kind serving and nice view and clean kitchen. Next time, I'll visit here for non-Japanese food.

We loved it, and loved the open kitchen where we could watch the cooks in action.

As a smoker, we also loved that there is at least a somewhat separate area so non smokers can avoid being directly next to us. They had no smoking signs on the tables in the non smoking section! That is such a step in the right direction.

Well, it's better than ordering pizza at a Japanese restaurant! :P Their menu isn't fully ready yet so we didn't have many choices.

1 starter, 4 main courses, and 5 drinks. Our bill came out as RO 34.750 taxes included !!!!!!!!!!!!!

hmmmm, that's kinda expensive !!!
