- Pavo Real used to be a good, fun place to go to but the success has gone to their head and they now overcharge for below standard food. RO35 for what you guys had is waaaay too expensive for that...

Oman2day Restaurant Awards 2007

Oman2day is currently gathering votes for its restaurants awards for the year 2007, I do not how authentic these awards are, but the mere idea of having such a thing is really amazing. I've never voted for these but I did attend the Award Gala in which they announced the winners last year. Usually the winners are chosen by votes alone. But last year they formed a committee of three who went and ate at the top restaurants in each category and chose the winner. So it wasn't always the restaurant with the most votes that won.

The same procedure is going to be followed this year, the committee members will visit the top finalists of each category and select the winner according to their own decisions. I think that five is way too high of a number to make the votes have a significant value in the process.

I did vote 2 years ago .. when I saw the awards, I was not surprised .. I mean the "most" popular places got the votes .. but it doesnt mean its the best .. this is why I would go for a commitee .. because it would evaluate the resturants more..

If I voted this year, one thing for sure .. I would vote Glacier as best coffee shop .. I just love that place!!
